The slim, floor-standing OPTICON 6 MK2 is the entry point in the OPTICON MK2 series for the renowned DALI hybrid soft dome and ribbon tweeter. The hybrid tweeter offers a significant advance in high frequency resolution and has been improved for OPTICON MK2 by incorporating the CALLISTO derived 29mm dome alongside a 17mm x 45mm ribbon element in a re-engineered, cast aluminium faceplate. OPTICON 6 MK2 low frequencies and midrange are handled by twin 6½” Wood Fibre diaphragm, SMC magnet bass/midrange drivers, the lower one of which is gradually attenuated into the midrange band. The OPTICON 6 MK2 offers optional bi-wiring to enable its bass/midrange and high frequency sections to be connected independently. The Studio 7 floor-standing loudspeakers are the beginning of a new line of Wilson loudspeaker solutions. These speakers are designed for hi-fi home stereo systems. The design and technological solutions applied have been taken from professional studio monitors. This approach, new to the Wilson brand, ensures both natural and accurate sound reproduction, and the new design inspires confidence with its professional connotations.

The speaker's signature element is a 28 mm soft dome tweeter that sits deep within a large 5" fiberglass horn that evenly distributes the sound. The driver is built on a powerful neodymium magnet. The whole creates an acoustic solution proven in the best studios, now made available to home users. The acoustic system also includes two 5-inch mid-bass drivers embedded in a cast aluminum basket. Kevlar diaphragms with pronounced surface ribbing further enhancing the rigidity of the structure, cooperate with large magnets weighing over 280g. A Bass-reflex port with rounded outlet ends is placed at the back of the cabinet.

The sleek and uniform-looking cabinet is constructed using thick MDF boards covered with high-quality vinyl with Walnut or Smoked Oak wood grain. The cabinet can be mounted on large, conical aluminum spikes. Here, too, depending on the color version of the case, for the Walnut finish the spikes are permanently colored in brass, and for the Black finish in silver. The set of spikes is completed by flat pads protecting the floor from damage. The same color treatment applies to the aluminum Wilson logo emblem located below the drivers and lines the bottom edge of the drivers.

The Studio 7 uses an unusual grille design. Instead of a single, large grille surface, three independent grilles cover the very outline of each of the three drivers. They are magnetically attached to the outer rims of the baskets. Thus, they fulfill the basic function of protection and dust control, but they are also a design element of the speakers, highlighting the wood grain on the front when worn. The color also depends on the finish of the cabinet - black acoustically transparent material for black speakers, and dark beige, falling into the aged brass for walnut speakers. In addition, the small size of the grilles makes them easy to store when not in use, which usually with traditional designs can be troublesome for users.

At the rear of the cabinet, in its lower part, there is an aluminum panel with single cable terminals with a gold-plated contact surface set in front. Terminals with large, transparent nuts with polarity markings make it easy to attach both unterminated and pre-terminated banana or pitchfork type speaker cables. The aforementioned aluminum panel was anodized in black, giving a brushed metal effect, thus becoming an integral part of the speakers' design. Already at first glance, the whole speaker reassures the user about the high quality of materials used and the manufacturer's attention to detail.

The most important information regarding the identification of the speakers and their basic performance is printed following the color scheme of each of the two cabinet finishes. Care has been taken to ensure that both the materials used and the care in assembly merit the additional distinction of being "Developed and Engineered in Denmark," a testament to Wilson's partnership with an experienced design bureau in a country that is home to many of the world's preeminent loudspeaker brands.
